After another year we are finally starting to see the shape of things to come. Eighteen months of care an attention have proved to be a great success and the trees are starting to look like rubber trees. After the initial clearing of land and careful planting it just took a little fertilizer and water to get to this stage of growth.
Trimming the lower branches enables the nutrients to reach the upper parts of the tree which ensures a faster growth, once you can't reach the branches any more you don't need to trim them further. Simply a little fertilizer every few months to help strengthen the growth and a lot of sun is all that is needed from here on in.
It is great to finally see the straight lines that will in another four years provide a 20 + year crop of rubber.
